Step 1: Unbox Your Ledger Device
Begin by unboxing your Ledger device (Ledger Nano X or Nano S Plus) carefully. Inside the box, you will find:
- Your Ledger hardware wallet
- A USB cable
- Recovery sheet (keep this safe)
- Quick start guide
Step 2: Download Ledger Live
To manage your crypto, you’ll need Ledger Live, the companion app for your Ledger hardware wallet. Download it on your device:
- Windows
- macOS
- Linux
- iOS (App Store)
- Android (Google Play)
Step 3: Set Up Your Ledger Device
- Power Up: Connect your Ledger hardware wallet to your computer or mobile device via USB or Bluetooth.
- Choose Your Language: Follow the on-screen instructions to select your language.
- Create a PIN: Protect your wallet with a secure PIN. Make sure it's something memorable but not easily guessable.
- Write Down Your Recovery Phrase: Your recovery phrase is the key to recovering your wallet if it is lost or stolen. Write it down carefully on the provided recovery sheet and store it securely.
Step 4: Install Your First Apps
Ledger Live allows you to install crypto apps for different coins and tokens.
- Open Ledger Live and connect your device.
- Navigate to the Manager section and install the apps for the cryptocurrencies you want to manage (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.).
Step 5: Receive Crypto
To receive crypto into your Ledger wallet:
- Go to the Receive tab in Ledger Live.
- Select the cryptocurrency you want to receive.
- Copy the address displayed and share it with the sender.
